Amy Tan's "The Joy Luck Club" will be the topic of discussion at a Scholar Panel Discussion, set for 7 p.m. Monday, April 16, in the auditorium of the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, 2401 Chautauqua Ave. on the University of Oklahoma campus
The panelists will be:
Dr. Jonathan Stalling, Deputy Editor in Chief of Chinese Literature Today and Assistant Professor of English at the University of Oklahoma
Dr. Wayne Stein, Assistant Professor of English, University of Central Oklahoma
Dr. Sidney Watson, Professor of English, Oklahoma Baptist University
Shel Harrington, local attorney and author, will be the moderator for the discussion.
Preceding the panel discussion will be a special performance by a quartet of local students from Norman North High School. Their presentation will be a 10-minute Reader’s Theatre depiction based on “The Joy Luck Club.”
The program is offered free of charge, although the museum itself is closed after 5 p.m.
